ARIA STUDIOS HOSTS TRIPLE OSCAR WINNER DANIEL DAY–LEWIS’ NEW FILM

Daniel Day-Lewis’s new film Anemone was shot at Aria Studios on Anglesey. This much anticipated film will mark the iconic actor’s return to the screen after eight years.

Aria Studios, based in the heart of North Wales’ stunning locations provided the perfect solution for the producers to realise their vision for this film.

From the peaceful, rural tranquillity of the remote cottage to the dramatic beaches and mysterious woodlands, all could be found within minutes of the high spec sound stages at Aria Studios and provided the perfect private and creative space to produce Day-Lewis’ latest film.

The film occupied the largest sound stage at Aria, filming there during the summer and autumn of 2024 and acted as the production’s base while also filming exterior shots at an array of locations in the North Wales region. The 20,000 square foot fully soundproofed film and television studio is located on Anglesey, North Wales.

Daniel Day-Lewis’s son Ronan Day-Lewis makes his directing debut on the project with father and son having co-written the screenplay. The story explores ‘the complex and profound ties that exist between brothers, fathers, and sons’. Sean Bean and Samantha Morton star alongside Day-Lewis and another screen legend, Brad Pitt is one of the film’s producers. The Focus Features/Plan B production is being distributed internationally by Universal Pictures International.

Day-Lewis last appeared on screen in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Phantom Thread in 2017. He is often regarded as the greatest screen actor of the modern era, having won three lead actor Oscars for Lincoln, There Will Be Blood and My Left Foot.
